Formula E announced the return of the elite international e-sports simulation racing competition, the Accelerate Championship which will contest its third season.
The virtual competition brings together the world’s best simulation racing talent with a cumulative prize pool of €40,000. Players will compete in the new Formula E GEN3 racing car simulators on Formula E race tracks, representing their teams.
The first online qualifying series took place last April 15-16 with 88 contenders. Two rounds will be held in Berlin and at the Hankook Rome 2023 E-Prix race weekend on July 15-16.

The top 11 competitors from the Berlin and Rome events will win a place in the Accelerate Championship live final to be held at ExCeL London as part of the big weekend that closes season 9 of the electric single-seater series.
Building on the appeal of the Accelerate Championship to the global gaming community, Formula E is launching a new influencer-led eSports series.
This is Accelerate AMPED, which will be made up of 11 influencers, each of whom will represent Formula E teams and generate entertainment-based competitive content.
The tournament qualifiers will be held in conjunction with the Accelerate Championships in Berlin and Rome, giving fans the opportunity to watch the action live on stage at the Gaming Arena. The Accelerate AMPED finale will also take place live during the Hankook E-Prix London 2023 race weekend.
Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports driver Frede Rasmussen has so far dominated the series becoming the only winner of the two Accelerate Championships contested so far.
