Off the track, more than 20,000 people attended the inaugural ABB FIA Formula E FIA World Championship race in Portland, which was a sold-out event.
Cheerleaders from the local NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, entertained fans, while one of the team’s stars, Jabari Walker, also enjoyed the day. Olympic champion skier Lindsey Vonn joined the Jaguar TCS Racing team and experienced a high-speed electric lap on the track.
American rapper, singer and fashion designer Jaden Smith unveiled his own exclusive design for a GEN3 race car, the fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric race car ever built, at the Allianz Fan Village before the race.
Smith has been an avid fan of the world’s most sustainable sport since attending a Formula E race in Brooklyn, New York, last season. Now he has taken his support to the next level by partnering with Formula E to create a unique livery design for the sport’s GEN3 race car: the fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric race car ever built.
A Great Introduction
The collaboration between Jaden and Formula E, the world’s first sport to be net zero from the ground up, was also revealed to thousands of fans at the sold-out event, who had the opportunity to see the car up close at the Formula E Allianz Fan Village at Portland International Raceway.
The design concept reflects Jaden’s love for the arts, and was created with an aesthetic that he is passionate about. The iconography used is a collection of graphic elements specifically intended to showcase the intersection of artistic creativity and exploration of the world around us through the pursuit and love of knowledge.
The inspiration for the unique design is deeply personal. It includes academic subjects that captivated Jaden’s interest, such as world history, mathematics and physics, as well as Mystery School: Jaden’s library and learning center, which serves as a platform for guest teachers to educate the community on a wide range of topics, from sustainability to mathematics.

Strong Partnership
“I have a great connection with Formula E. I loved coming back for my second E-Prix, even more, being able to design my own GEN3 livery. It’s an amazing platform to express myself and my passion for innovation. To see it come to life was unreal,” Smith said.
“I believe we all need to give back to the world and create our own sustainable future. That’s where Formula E is leading the charge. They show that it can be done in an exciting way that shows innovation, technology and outrageous racing. That’s really exciting to me. I’m all in. I can’t wait to get back,” he said.
