Formula E Founder and Chairman Alejandro Agag was nominated as one of TIME100’s Climate Leaders in Business.
Agag is the founder of some of the most sustainable sports on the planet. Formula E is a pioneer in world-class sport for its leadership in sustainability, not least for its unique status as the first and only sport to achieve Net Zero certification since its inception.
Along with Formula E, the Spaniard completed the all-electric triad with the E1 Series and its bespoke water hydrofoils and Extreme E (the “Electric Odyssey” of an off-road racing series) as leaders in motorsport, driving leadership in sustainability, equity and inclusion.

TIME100 Climate Leaders
To identify the true change-makers, TIME editors spent months with TIME CO2’s in-house climate experts vetting nominations from across the global economy.
In line with the latest scientific and economic thinking, they prioritized nominees from the five most crucial systems for change: energy, nature, finance, culture and health.
Measurable and scalable achievements were most highly valued over commitments and announcements. They also favored the most recent actions and found countless encouraging examples of business leaders taking positive steps right now, even in the world’s most polluting sectors, such as shipping, manufacturing, agriculture and energy.
The TIME100 climate list presents not just one perfect example of comprehensive climate action, but a multitude of people who are making significant progress in the fight against climate change while creating business value.
