In order to show the excitement of electric off-road racing and its impact on the environment, the nascent Extreme E will now have a documentary series called “Electric Odyssey.”
20 episodes of 26 minutes each will show more details than can be seen in the five weekends in which the X Prixs of the first season of the electric series will be played.
Among the details that Electric Odyssey plans to reveal are the reactions of the protagonists behind the scenes, the progress of the competition, scientific information on climate change and sustainability; all taken to the sports field of the new series.
“Electric Odyssey is a great series creating additional depth to the storytelling of the championship and extending the conversation outside of our five events in 2021,” said Ali Russell, director Marketing Officer at Extreme E.
Russell expressed being delighted with the broadcast of the documentary series and explained that it with its content provides real insight into the personalities behind the competition.
Chris Carpenter, Senior Producer at Aurora Media (part of Extreme E Studios with North One), said the series is an opportunity to delve into other aspects of the championship beyond racing.

“It’s going to be quite the adventure to make the series but a challenge we are relishing,” he added.
Episodes two and three focus on Extreme E’s first X Prix in Saudi Arabia, and will showcase desertification and the championship’s Legacy program in the Red Sea to support turtle conservation.
“Electric Odyssey” features drivers such as Sébastien Loeb, Carlos Sainz, Timmy Hansen, Catie Munnings, Jamie Chadwick and Laia Sanz; as well as team leaders such as Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Chip Ganassi, as well as spokesmen for Extreme E and its Scientific Committee.
The St. Helena ship, the competition’s floating paddock, will also have its place in the documentary, being essential to maintain neutrality in emissions in all possible aspects of the series.
“Electric Odyssey” can be seen on television across a variety of channels in 180 countries, including FOX in the United States, ITV in the United Kingdom, Canada and Asia, TV2 in Hungary, Cosmote in Greece, ORF in Austria, SuperSport in Africa and TVNZ in New Zealand.
