The Principality of Monaco witnessed one of the most exciting races of the current Formula E season, where, far from accidents and collisions reigning, an efficient António Félix Da Costa (DS Techeetah) got the victory in an extremely fair couple even when the Portuguese lost the lead on multiple occasions.
The action began with the Dutch Robin Frijns behind Da Costa, who came out in first place. With just 5 minutes to go, Frijns stole the lead for a few laps. Throughout the race, he managed to overtake the Portuguese on at least 3 occasions.
However, the good energy management and perseverance of Da Costa, who came to occupy the fourth place, allowed him to take advantage of the struggle of his opponents, where Evans and Vergne were immersed.
In the final stretch of the race, a crafty Mitch Evans would take advantage of attack mode to overtake Frijns and Da Costa in an incredible maneuver.
It was at this point that the Safety Car made its first appearance after Rene Rast’s car crashed, holding the action for around 7 minutes.

The show resumed, the last lap was used by Da Costa, who with a great move recovered the position in which he had started, thus achieving his first victory of the entire season and giving a table blow in defense of his title of champion.
“It was the most risky overtaking of the race,” declared Antonio, winner of the only E-Prix on a single event of the 15 that Formula E will see this season.
“I have no words, winning like this in Monaco on the last lap is incredible. Energy management was key in this race,” concluded Da Costa after the celebration.
The podium
Envision Virgin Racing’s Robin Frijns took second place, while Mitch Evans, who stroked victory for a considerable stretch of the race, took 3rd place.
Vergne, Günther and Rowland took the next places respectively.
Were there collisions?
Before the first minute, the collisions began in the first narrow and complicated corner of the Monaco circuit, a fact that injected a dose of nervousness in the expectant.
Fortunately, and except for some natural inconveniences, the Monaco E-Prix passed with complete normality; being carried out with speed and good energy management at all times.
Puebla, next stop
Although Mexico is part of the destinations that Formula E has visited since its inception, the electric car competition had never visited Puebla, which in this case will be the destination of the eighth and ninth E-Prix (June 19 and 20), since that the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (usual headquarters), currently appears as a temporary hospital.
