Reigning defending champion of the electric series, António Felix Da Costa is off to a peculiar start to this seventh season of Formula E. The Portuguese clinched his first victory of the campaign in round six in Monaco.
The Techeetah driver came close to winning the first race of the year in Valencia, where only nine drivers were able to finish the fifth E-Prix. Da Costa during the two harvests in Spain failed to score.
Antonio Félix da Costa expressed feeling “incredible to get rid of the bad feelings” after the dispute in Monaco and with a lot of pressure.
“I’ve been putting a lot of pressure on myself just to get a result off my back this year. Having won the championship last year, we’ve done OK this year, but nothing special,” he said.

The Portuguese admitted that he has been working with a sports psychologist who has helped him do a good job over the weekend at the principal.
Da Costa explained in detail what happened when he overtook New Zealand driver Mitch Evans for first place.
“I had a little bit more energy than Evans and I knew that on the last lap that difference was going to grow. And I just waited for it. To be honest, I went for the move on that last lap in Turn 12 thinking ‘OK, I’ll go for it but it will probably not work. He’s got enough to cover me.’ But it was just enough to get him,” he added.
Now the Portuguese pilot is fully involved in the fight for the drivers’ title occupying the fourth place but only 10 points behind the leader Robin Frjins and two from the podium. In addition, with the 28 points from Monaco, he placed DS Techeetah in great position for the constructors’ championship.
The Chinese team is now third within seven units of the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team.
