Motorsports are gaining increasing popularity worldwide. The immense talent of motorsport’s biggest media stars, such as Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Marc Márquez, and Álex Palou, attracts a multitude of fans to a wide variety of competitions held across the globe, which keep us engaged with races almost 24/7 on many weekends. Therefore, we have compiled a short list of some of the best options for following all, or many, of the motorsport events.
Flashscore
This is the world’s largest app for following live sports, with over 100 million registered users globally. Many motorsport competitions can be followed on Flashscore, including the World Rally Championship, Formula 1, MotoGP, and NASCAR, with live lap times and stage times available. Flashscore is part of the Czech live sports group Livesport, which also has specialised projects like FlashFootball for football competitions. Additionally, it includes a news service covering all the latest motorsport updates.
Sofascore
Another multi-sport app with a large international following, Sofascore offers extensive motorsport coverage and features a fairly traditional, user-friendly design. The Croatian company behind it provides a highly regarded live sports app and website, though it can seem somewhat outdated and lacks additional services; for instance, it does not include its own news service.
DAZN
This app offers several competitions, such as F1 and MotoGP, although the selection is limited to those rights DAZN holds for broadcasting. DAZN began as an on-demand sports broadcaster and has since acquired rights to F1 and MotoGP, recruiting renowned commentators to enhance coverage.
Motorsport.com
As one of the leading publications in the motorsport world, Motorsport.com has its own dedicated app. It covers a wide array of competitions, including Formula 1, MotoGP, Formula E, NASCAR, IndyCar, WEC, WRC, F2, F3, WRX, DTM, WSBK, Moto2, and Moto3, among others. It’s an excellent tool for staying up-to-date with the latest motorsport news.
PitlaneOne
PitlaneOne is arguably the best app for following F1, often surpassing the official app in several aspects. However, its coverage is highly focused on Formula 1, which may limit its appeal for fans of other motorsport disciplines.
