YouGov’s latest analytics report reveals that Extreme E, the 100% electric off-road category, experienced an increase in viewership in 2023, reaching more than 144 million viewers globally.
The increase in viewership for the series is attributed to the third season, during which a record five teams competed for the championship in the final event, with Rosberg X Racing claiming championship glory.
In this way, the series’ worldwide audience experienced a 6% increase from 2022, when it reached 135 million viewers. On the other hand, according to the “Extreme E Media Results 2023” report, the female audience increased again to 34% during Season 3, compared to the 29% recorded in 2022.

Extreme E: Steady Growth
The series’ short-race platform has been identified as a key driver of audience growth in season 3. This time around, some of motorsport’s most prominent teams and drivers competed side-by-side in some of the world’s most breathtaking locations, generating further interest.
Likewise, the digital audience continued to grow in season 3, in line with Extreme E’s most competitive year to date. The Extreme E 2023 campaign generated a total of 36,334 social media posts, reaching 2.1 billion potential impressions and 109.8 million interactions.
In addition, according to data provided by Little Dot Studios, the total number of followers of the series on social media now stands at 1.2 million. “We are proud to announce that Extreme E’s audience has grown substantially again following the conclusion of season 3,” said Ali Russell, Extreme E’s CEO.
“We have already launched our fourth season for 2024 with a spectacular opening Desert X Prix. in Saudi Arabia, and we are encouraged that the rate at which our championship is growing mirrors that of our global audience,” he concluded.
