Formula E announced a 140% increase in participants for the “FIA Girls on Track” program for Season 9, presented by Hankook, including a 25% increase for the first two events of season 10.

Last season, Formula E hosted five in-race events focused on engaging girls ages 12-18, providing on-track programs that included off-site talks at schools and universities.

During the immersive one-day experience, women from the ABB FIA Formula E ABB World Championship take girls through sessions focused on STEM, motorsports, sustainability and media topics, including the opportunity to test their driving skills on customized electric karting tracks. or racing simulators.

Supporting Inclusion

In December 2023, Formula E also announced that it would increase the number of “FIA Girls on Track” from five events to all races, with an expected number of participants of more than 2,500 by the end of the season.

Since Formula E began hosting the race sessions in season 5, more than 2,000 young women have benefited from the program and even earned positions within the all-electric championship and the motorsport industry in general.

Julia Pallé, Formula E’s Vice President of Sustainability, noted that it has been incredible to see the growth of this leading program as young women begin to take advantage of and pursue opportunities around STEM education and motorsports.

“Formula E is a pioneer in this space and acts as a genuine platform to better and educate girls, but more importantly to give them the confidence to pursue their dreams and achieve great things within the motorsport sector,” she said.

Now in its sixth year, Formula E has positively impacted more than 2,500 girls across 15 race weekends, with leading female figures from a variety of professions throughout the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship paddock delivering educational and inspirational workshops.

The new elevated program for season 10 is supported by Hankook (presenting partner), ABB (global partner), WAE (official partner), and official series partner Allianz is backing the initiative as a new global partner.
