The excitement for the eSkootr Championship (eSC) has begun even before the category has officially made its debut. Several candidates have shown interest in joining the championship, with Murphy Prototypes being the most recent to join this new adventure that is about to begin in 2022.
eSC has some surprises in store waiting to be revealed. So far four teams have been confirmed, among them Murphy Prototypes, based in Dublin, Ireland, and led by Greg Murphy, former Formula 3 Asia driver, ready to start a new chapter where electric scooters will be the main protagonists.
Beyond being a racing team, Murphy Prototypes has an alternative energy vehicle division that aims to design cars that can operate with new forms of sustainable mobility, including electrification. As for Greg Murphy, his name is well positioned in the alternative fuels sector, as in addition to being pro-sustainability he is the founder of Biodiesel Ireland and Greenwell Resources.

His passion for sustainable mobility has led him to enter into a pact with eSkootr Championship. The category’s goal of giving a new look and appreciation to electric scooters combines with Murphy Prototypes’ goals to work closely together toward expanding micro-mobility globally.
“We have been keeping an eye on the emerging micromobility sector as we expand Murphy Prototypes’ alternative fuels capability. For us, eSC represents the perfect intersection of our sporting pedigree and advanced technological ambitions,” said Greg Murphy.
Greg expects to make a positive impact on motorsports through rising stars, which in turn will impact important mobility sectors such as transportation and alternative energy.
On the other hand, eSC is thrilled with Murphy’s foray into the debut season of the 100% electric scooter category. “We have been talking to Greg and his team about developments in electrified vehicles and have been impressed with the work they are doing in Ireland, along with the vision they have for the future of micro-mobility transport. We are pleased to welcome another like-minded organization to the inaugural campaign,” said Khalil Beschir, Co-founder and COO of eSkootr Championship.
