Porsche is preparing ahead of the tenth season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with a mix of young and experienced racers.

In addition to its official drivers Pascal Wehrlein and António Félix da Costa, André Lotterer and David Beckmann will be present in the team as reserve and test drivers in 2024.

“Next season, our team will benefit from André’s extensive experience in the electric single-seater championship,” says Florian Modlinger, Competition Director of the Official Formula E Team.

“On the other hand, David is a young driver whom we know well and he will also be able to help us with the skill and experience he has gained with our Porsche 99X Electric,” he added.

Experience and Youth

With André Lotterer (42 years old), Porsche made a successful debut in Formula E in November 2019, when he took second place in the first race of the season, which was held in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

In 2024, after a year competing for Porsche’s Formula E customer team Avalanche Andretti, the three-time Le Mans winner will prioritize his participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), where he will race for the Porsche Penske Motorsport team.

For David Beckmann (23 years old), 2024 will be his second season as a reserve and test driver for the official Porsche Formula E team.

He took his first laps on the track with the Porsche 99X Electric at the Calafat circuit in Spain in autumn 2022, and was then able to take part in the official test day for young drivers during the Berlin E-Prix, which took place in spring 2023.

Later in June of the same year, he had the chance to contest his first Formula E race as a reserve driver for customer team Avalanche Andretti at the Jakarta E-Prix. He also demonstrated his versatility by taking a class victory with the Oreca-07 at the 1,000 Miles of Sebring, the opening race of the WEC season.

Gabriela Jílková (28) supports the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team as a simulation and development driver. In her debut season, she drove the Porsche 99X Electric in the pre-season tests held in Valencia last October.
