Sette Camara and Vandoorne Lead Comebacks in Rome

As it has become a tradition in every race, Formula E published the statistical details of the race held in Rome, along with the fastest drivers and those who climbed the most places.

During the race, Sergio Sette Camara and Stofel Vandoorne took the “ABB Driver Of“. The former gained 13 places in Race 1, making his way up after a mid-race pileup that eliminated several opponents, while Vandoorne climbed 10 places on a dramatic Sunday.

That’s how the respective promotions of the NIO 333 and DS PENSKE drivers fit into two of the most exciting rounds of the ABB FIA Formula E FIA World Championship seen in Season 9, as the excitement builds at the climax.

Evans Flies on Day 1

Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) won Round 13 in the classic style we’ve seen so often from the Jaguar and Porsche cars in GEN3 so far.

He held the lead throughout, never dropped below third, and used his energy sparingly in the first half before choosing the right moment to jump out and turn his energy advantage and track position into an insurmountable obstacle for those behind.

In an eventful race after the red flag and restart, Evans consistently used less energy than his immediate rivals Sacha Fenestraz (Nissan) and Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti).

Fenestraz’s Nissan used a full percentage more energy than Evans’ Jaguar on a single lap before the incident braking, when the French-Argentinean climbed past the Jaguars and stormed into the lead.

By the time, Evans had made it to the lead on lap 18, he had trailed Fenestraz and then Dennis for all but two laps of the E-Prix, and the gap to Fenestraz was staggering – Evans was 4 percent better and even Dennis was 2.7 percent better, as the Nissan driver was forced to over-consume in an attempt to stay with the pair.

The gradual power deficit, which was partly due to powertrain efficiency but exacerbated by leading much of the race, marked the inevitable downfall of Fenestraz’s bid for victory.
