The DFactory in Barcelona, Spain, brings together a remarkable group of startups that are developing innovative projects in the area of mobility. One of the presentations featured this year is the urban prototype of electric propulsion.
It is the E-Miles, an urban, ecological and inclusive two-seater (although it can be extended to four seats) that measures 2.5 meters long and incorporates a multitude of technological solutions, from a joystick instead of a steering wheel, cameras as rear-view mirrors or a giant screen with all the indicators.
It has a double entrance, side and front, and to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility, it can be wheelchair-accessible.

Segment Coverage
The e-Miles, which can be driven from the age of 16, is designed to provide a solution for last-mile transport and to complement car sharing services. It also looks set to be a cutting-edge solution for both private individuals and companies.
“This new electric vehicle will help solve the major problems of cities, such as parking, pollution, mobility of people with disabilities and last mile delivery through Industry 4.0 technologies, such as 3D manufacturing, robotics, sensors, communication and artificial intelligence,” explains Mike Hastewell, CEO of The e-Miles Company.
For the production of this first prototype of the E-Miles, Leitat and the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (in the manufacture of large parts in the IAM 3D Hub equipment), as well as BASF Forward AM, which contributed with the necessary material for printing.
Malena Engineering aspires to exercise its leadership through this revolutionary electric vehicle manufactured by The E-Miles Company, now that Spain is committed to sustainable mobility with the Next Generation funds, which will finance various private and public initiatives to promote the use of electric cars.
