One of the most anticipated events in the electric bikes world: the UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup, for the first time in Trentino, in Pietramurata, in the Trentino Alto Garda heart.
This awaited event for e-bikes will gather the top riders to compete on a specially crafted track at the “Il Ciclamino” Circuit, located in the famous tourist spot of Alto Garda, nestled at the base of the Brenta Dolomites, during the weekend of June 1-2, 2024.
The atmosphere and energy of this circuit, renowned for hosting major international sporting events, will create the setting for this competition. Riders will compete on a one-of-a-kind track, prepared for the event by world-class specialists.
The advancement of e-bikes and an exciting race format will enable fans to observe the riders up close at technical points throughout the bike park, which spans over 70,000 square meters of hills and woodlands.
Local hero Martino Fruet (Lapierre) will be present, as usual, alongside Anna Oberparleiter (Specialized), both Italian E-XC Champions. They will compete against the World Champions, Swiss riders Joris Ryf (Specialized) and Nathalie Schneitter (Trek), as well as the current World Cup title holders, French athletes Jérôme Gilloux (Lapierre) and Justine Tonso (Lapierre).
Additionally, representing Italy, Mirko Tabacchi (RDR), the standout performer of the latter half of the 2023 season, will also be one of the riders to watch this year.
“With the arrival of the WES UCI E-Mountain Bike World Cup of Trentino in Alto Garda,” commented Gianfranco Pasqua, president of the Moto Club Arco, “the Ciclamino Pietramurata circuit faces this challenge for the first time in the 2024 season, being a high-level competition and the energy that this sport brings to the Trentino region, where bikes and e-bikers are highly prevalent”.
“We are happy to arrive in Trentino and kick off the season in a region renowned for its passion for e-bikes and mountain sports. We are confident that this first edition will serve as a launch pad for future seasons at ‘Ciclamino,’ which is now embracing cycling. We are collaborating with a team of top-notch professionals who are experienced in hosting tens of thousands of spectators,” commented Francesco Di Biase, CEO of WES.
The combination of sport, spectacle, and tourism blends seamlessly with the region’s youthful and sporty spirit. The WES World Cup event is a competition and also an extraordinary opportunity for e-bike enthusiasts from several countries to come together, share their passion, and celebrate the spirit of outdoor sports.
A large audience is anticipated for this first-ever event. The paddock will be brimming with new features and opportunities to meet the top riders in the speciality, complemented by music, street food, and much more.
