Will Smith is diving into a fresh domain with the launch of his team, Westbrook Racing, in the E1 Series—the pioneering global event for all-electric powerboat racing. This move marks the actor’s foray into the competition for its inaugural season, utilizing his global entertainment company’s name as a nod.
Their maiden voyage in the series is set for this weekend (May 11th and 12th) at the Venice E1 Grand Prix, making a splash in the City of Water. Across the globe, nine teams will vie for victory, from Jeddah to Monaco to Hong Kong.
The actor’s investment in an E1 team places him alongside NFL icon Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal, Steve Aoki, Didier Drogba, Marcelo Claure, Virat Kohli, Sergio Pérez, and Marc Anthony.

E1 Series: Fresh Entry
This latest addition to the roster echoes E1’s mission to drive sustainability in maritime mobility. Leveraging his massive social media following of over 265 million, Smith aims to spotlight electric sports and sustainable mobility, underscoring the collective aspiration for a greener tomorrow.
On the water, Westbrook Racing will be captained by Lucas Ordoñez, a GT Academy victor with extensive experience in Le Mans, SuperGT, and Formula 3, and Sara Price, a force to be reckoned with, boasting 17 national motocross championships along with accolades in Extreme E, X Games, and the Rally Dakar.
