After 179 Grand Prix in Formula 1, including 10 podiums and a long period in Indycar, Romain Grosjean takes on a new challenge in his prestigious career and returns to DA Racing to participate in the Andros 2022 e-Trophée behind the wheel of the Andros Sport.
Back in the winter of 2010, Grosjean discovered the tournament on ice and brought out all his class to triumph in the event at the French Alps. After that, the driver made a few occasional appearances, all of them ending in victory.
In 2022, with the support of Granules du Limousin, along with e-BLS and Enerlis, the Frenchman will take advantage of the Indycar break to set up on frozen tracks.
Changes to Cars
Although Grosjean knows the competition very well, several things have been modified up to the present day. One of them is the new electric drivetrain that powers the Andros Sport GdL, operated by DA Racing. However, the car retains the basic concepts that the experienced racer is used to and may quickly adapt to the details.
“I have always enjoyed driving on ice in a team that motivates me, particularly having the support of Granules du Limousin, a partner that is especially close to my heart,” said Grosjean after the announcement.
“This is a team I know well and I am very excited about this new adventure at Andros e-Trophée. I will take advantage of the team’s experience to arrive in the best conditions to pilot Andros Sport GdL, and then why not try to win a race as it happened as soon as I arrived in ice racing,” he added.

Julien Febreau, who will be Grosjean’s teammate, pointed out that they have known each other for a long time, so he will have no problem sharing a place on the grid. “I’m sure we’ll have a good time and a great performance,” he said.
For his part, Dominique Dubourg, DA Racing’s Chief Executive Officer underlined, “Romain Grosjean and Julien Febreau are not only drivers in our team, they are first and foremost friends. The entire team is very happy to welcome them to this project, in partnership with Granules du Limousin”.
He maintained that the team’ s plan brings together both passion and will to succeed. “We are all looking forward to seeing them behind the wheel of the Andros Sport GdL,” he said.
The Tournament Welcomes Him
After the news spread about Grosjean joining the ice challenge, positive reactions were quick to follow from the organizers of the winter contest.
“Romain Grosjean is now part of the Andros e-Trophée family. We are all very happy to welcome him,” said Max Mamers, creator and organizer of the event.
“After ten years in Formula 1 with many emotions, we know that he loves driving on these tracks and he quickly proved it with his three victories, besides his sporting qualities. Romain is a driver who totally corresponds to the spirit of Andros”, he concluded.
