Crans-Montana (Switzerland) is preparing to make history by hosting the first off-road electric motorcycle racing world championship, the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, at the summit of Cry d’Er on June 24, 2023, to feature as the second stage of the event, which will bring together the world’s best riders in a breathtaking setting with altitudes of over 2200 meters.
Spectators will be able to enjoy a 360° panorama of the Valais Alps as the riders compete for the world title, promising to be a unique and thrilling experience for both competitors and spectators.
“In the current context of energy transition, hosting an electric motorcycle race on such a scale and in such an exceptional location as the top of a mountain is a real opportunity for the resort’s reputation. More than 40 international television channels will broadcast the event,” says Mélanie Montani-Rey, CoPresident of E-Xplorer Crans-Montana.

The Circuit
The track will be along the ridge, between Cry d’Er and Bella-Lui, will measure 600 meters, and will be made up of eight obstacles, where the skill of the participants will be put to the test and will feature mixed teams, endorsing and supporting equality of gender and conditions in motorsports while promoting a new way to enjoy racing with the least possible environmental impact.
In total, twelve teams will bring the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup to life, featuring world-class riders such as Robbie Maddison, riding for MaddWill, and James Stewart Jr. riding for Seven Racing, where the values of the race focus on sustainability, promoting Crans-Montana internationally, gender equality and embracing new ways of bringing off-road motorcycling to life.
In addition, an “Electric Village” is scheduled to be created around the event, with the aim of offering various activities related to electric mobility, such as initiation circuits for children, games, freestyle demonstrations, as well as an exhibition of electric vehicles.
It will undoubtedly be a unique opportunity to experience electric mobility first-hand and learn about the latest technologies and trends in this field through an interactive and educational environment.
“As a Swiss citizen, it is an honor to bring our electric motorcycle series to this beautiful venue for the first time. This race will highlight not only the capabilities of electrified motorcycles but also the beauty of the Swiss landscapes,” says Valentin Guyonnet, CEO and Co-Founder of the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup.
