Extreme E’s global operations will be supported by Vodafone, a company that recently became a communications partner of the category, where innovations and capabilities offered by the phone company in terms of 5G, MPN, IoT and MEC will be available to the series during its second season.
One of the aspects that led the 100% electric off-road category to pact with Vodafone has been the sustainable side they work on through their IOT solutions, where activities such as agriculture, forestry and decarbonization of energy networks stand out.
“Vodafone is a global leader in communications, innovation and technology and crucially incorporates an impressive level of sustainability and inclusion practices into its core strategies. We are proud to welcome Vodafone to the Extreme E family and look forward to working with them to achieve impactful results,” said Ali Russell, Extreme E’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Promoting gender equality, social jobs and environmental education delivered by the electric racing series will be complemented by Vodafone’s vision and mission to encourage its customers, businesses and society at large to make pro-planetary choices through technology.
Thus, the work starts now, as Extreme E prepares for its second and third races, scheduled to take place in Sardinia from July 6 to 7, and then from July 9 to 10, respectively. Then, South America will welcome the series for the first time, in Antofagasta, Chile, where ODYSSEY 21 will race from September 24-25, followed by Punta del Este, Uruguay, from November 26-27 for the end of the second season.
