Despite the start of the Extreme E, the teams continue to make adjustments and incorporate key pieces for the good performance in the first season of the all-electric series.
In this case, it is the X44 team, owned by Lewis Hamilton, which announces an alliance with Prodrive, a British company with extensive experience in raids and rallies, and which will provide technical support to the organization of the Formula 1 champion.

The presence of Sébastien Loeb in the team as Cristina Gutiérrez’s partner and the bond that exists between the Frenchman and the British coach after competing together in the Dakar have been a necessary channel for the collaboration agreement between Prodrive and the Project Forty Four (X44) of Hamilton.
Although at first Marc Hynes was expected to be in charge of the technical management of the team, finally it will be Prodrive that manages the Odyssey 21 to try to proclaim itself as the first champions of this new championship based on the aforementioned electric 4×4 SUV.
Prodrive chairman and founder David Richards said: “Extreme E is such an exciting and unique concept and I have been fascinated by the project ever since Alejandro [Agag] launched it almost two years ago. When Lewis then announced his interest in a team it was a great opportunity for Prodrive to help him realise his personal ambitions from the series.”
