As it prepares for season 2, the recognition for Extreme E after the debut campaign does not stop coming. This time, it has been awarded with the 2022 Environmental Award granted during the ceremony of Motorsport UK: Night of Champions.
This award recognizes the environmental work of the 100% electric off-road category in each of the locations selected to compete (Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Greenland, Italy and the United Kingdom), with the intention of creating a change and providing solutions to reverse the effects of climate change.
The award was presented by Hugh Chambers, Managing Director of Motorsport UK to Julia Fry, Extreme E Communications Director, and Catie Munnings, Andretti United driver. This recognition has been created to distinguish activities that encourage green, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

“We are just starting out on this incredible journey, but we have already accomplished so much, and all of us at Extreme E are proud to be recognized so early and at this level in the industry,” said Alejandro Agag, CEO and founder of the category.
“We have an incredible opportunity, not only to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible for the division, but to further our role to inspire others within the motorsport industry to join us in making changes, small or large, as we all look to the future,” he continued.
In this way, Extreme E is gearing up with everything to face the second season of the series, with much projection and recognition due to the performance obtained during 2021. Rosberg X Racing will try to defend the title, while cautiously watching the arrival of a new manufacturer with weight: McLaren.
