Formula E is expected to reveal four new races for its 2021-22 schedule alongside the return of three cities that were removed this year due to the pandemic.
While waiting for the 2021-22 calendar to be announced in June, the Autosports portal indicates that in the eighth season there will be races in Jakarta (capital of Indonesia) and Seoul (South Korea); both venues eliminated by the pandemic situation.
The other two cities that would host events would be Vancouver (Canada) and Eindhoven (Netherlands), both debutants as venues for the electric series.
“The calendar for next year, let me tell you, it’s going to look fantastic. There is a lot of traction for Formula E in every single angle from cities, from partners, from manufacturers. Talking about the calendar, we’re going have at least two new cities in the calendar (referring to Jakarta and Seoul),” said Alberto Longo, Formula E’s chief championship officer.
The co-founder also expressed that the eighth season would have the best calendar that the competition has developed and highlighted the meaning of achieving this planning at the time of a pandemic.

Formula E CEO Jamie Reigle indicated that it makes sense for the board to engage with the city of Eindhoven because of the attraction in the Netherlands to motorsport.
“Until anything [is] signed, and I don’t mean it to diminish that letter in any way, but political support and governmental support and engagement is a prerequisite for any of our races. But fundamentally, there needs to be a will from the community, or the city or the environment we’re racing in otherwise it doesn’t happen,” he said about the letter of candidacy of the race in the Dutch country.
It should be noted that the managers have held talks about the reinstatement for 2021-22 of an expected E-Prix like the one in Santiago de Chile that cannot be played in the current campaign. Sanya (China) and Paris (France) are in the plans for the eighth season of the electric series.
