Hyundai Motor Group announced that its brand dedicated to the hydrogen fuel cell system, HTWO will debut in motorsports and its fuel cell generator to the Pure ETCR category.

The Hyundai Group is not only entering its own racing team in the Pure ETCR championship, but will also provide a mobile charging infrastructure that uses HTWO’s proprietary fuel cell generator to charge all high-performance electric vehicles.

The charging system can generate up to 160 kW of electricity, offering power equivalent to twice that of NEXO, Hyundai Motor Company’s fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). It can also fully charge two ETCR vehicles, each equipped with a 65 kWh battery.

This mobile hydrogen generation system can also be deployed to supply power in remote areas where electricity is not accessible, or serve as an emergency power source for data centers and similar applications in the event of a power outage.

ETCR will not only serve as a high-performance vehicle test bed for Hyundai to advance its electrification products, but will also provide new business and market expansion opportunities for HTWO’s power generation technology.

Besides ETCR, HTWO also supplies its fuel cell systems to LS Electric, H2SYS, GRZ and is actively cooperating with companies to further develop fuel cell power generation technology. Additionally, HWTO plans to expand the application of its fuel cell technology to motor vessels, railways, urban air mobility vehicles, and various other future mobility fields.

It is important to mention that Pure ETCR is the world’s first fully electric touring car racing category offering leading vehicle manufacturers a global stage to showcase electric technology on a high-performance stage. Only vehicles without an internal combustion engine are allowed to participate.

Pure ETCR will take place for the first time in Vallelunga, Italy, from June 18-20.
