Rosberg X Racing (RXR) continues to make steady progress in Extreme E, both inside and outside the races, as during the Artic X Prix a new sponsor was seen present in the off-road electric vehicle. This is Vulcan Energy, who become part of the project of former driver and Formula 1 champion, Nico Rosberg, during his first season.
This was made known by RXR through an official press release where they highlight an alliance for several years, although they did not specify how many. However, this factor does not tarnish the company’s vision of the electrified rally category, where it expects to contribute all its knowledge to develop the competition, and likewise, to extract information from the races to apply it in its daily mission.
The company’s mission is to be a producer of lithium and renewable energies with zero net greenhouse gas emissions. Its team is made up of great minds in chemistry, geology and engineering who intend to take advantage of renewable geothermal energy to give a boost to the development of electric vehicle batteries.

The sponsorship agreement between the brand and the sustainable sports organization will consist of Vulcan Energy’s presence on the 400 KW ODYSSEY 21 for the remaining three editions of the 2021 season (including the Artic X Prix), as well as on the uniforms of three-time World Rally Champion Johan Kristoffersson and Rally Australia Champion, Molly Taylor.
“We are delighted to announce Vulcan as our new official partner. It is exciting to associate with such an innovative and sustainability-focused company and we look forward to collaborating for years to come with their team. We have incredible positive momentum as we look ahead to the third X Prix,” said Nico Rosberg, CEO and founder of RXR.
“Extreme E has already achieved global recognition as the future of environmentally focused motorsport and Rosberg X Racing is leading the way. As a leader on sustainable metals for batteries, this is an excellent choice to raise global awareness of our company’s Zero Carbon Lithium business. Environmentalism is in both teams’ DNA and we also share German-Australian origins. We look forward to work with leading sustainability investor Nico Rosberg and the RXR team, for the coming seasons”, said Francis Wedin, Vulcan’s CEO.
