Patrick O’Donovan will make his debut in Extreme E representing Legacy Motor Club in collaboration with Jimmie Johnson (LEGACY MC) during the Hydro X Prix in Scotland, scheduled for July 13 and 14.
After a year competing in the championship series, 20-year-old O’Donovan will join 19-year-old Gray Leadbetter to represent the American team, forming the youngest driver pairing in the history of Extreme E.
Thus, O’Donovan will take the place of team co-owner and driver Jimmie Johnson, who will debut in Extreme E at the next double-header event in Sardinia, Italy.

In addition to his achievements in Extreme E, O’Donovan has demonstrated his talent in off-road racing, being a two-time British Rallycross champion. However, his success is not limited to the national level, as he has won races in the FIA RX2e and secured a podium finish in the final round of the 2023 World Rallycross Championship in Hong Kong.
“I am very excited to make my debut in Extreme E for LEGACY MC and to compete with the ODYSSEY 21 for the first time. I feel like I know the car very well after being a championship driver for quite some time, and I hope to show what I have learned when we get back on track in Scotland,” said O’Donovan.
On the other hand, LEGACY MC debuted in Extreme E at the Desert X Prix in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, with Leadbetter and Travis Pastrana behind the wheel. Currently, the American team is in sixth place in the overall standings and hopes to improve its position at the Hydro X Prix.
“I am very eager to mix it up with the best on the track. LEGACY MC showed great potential at the first event in Saudi Arabia, and together with Gray, we will look to capitalize on that at the Hydro X Prix. Racing for Jimmie Johnson is an incredible feeling,” he concluded.
