In another project that will connect with motor racing fans and also have an impact on recycling, UNICEF and Formula E will auction a unique sculpture made from race car parts, with the aim of raising awareness of the impact of climate change on young people.
Entitled Children’s Planet, the impressive piece measuring 2.5 m in diameter was designed and fabricated by British sculptor Charles Elliot, using parts from Formula E GEN2 race cars used in Season 8.
The broken and damaged parts were gifted by the 11 teams as part of the Formula E Team Manufacturing Partnership, and their reuse highlights the importance of circularity in manufacturing and the teams’ collective support for championship partner UNICEF.
A Sustainable Partnership
Formula E, the first sport in the world to achieve net zero carbon certification since its inception, was the first international sports organization to partner with UNICEF to address climate change through the support of its Safe and Healthy Environment Fund.
Money raised from the auction will contribute directly to the climate fund that helps create a planet where all children can live in a safe, clean and sustainable environment by providing educational and health plans that directly benefit those most affected by climate change.

Features
The sculpture is made up of a globe with 11 children’s figures in the center, representing all the championship teams, and aims to raise awareness of children and young people who are disproportionately affected by the effects of climate change.
By placing them at the center, the sculpture also highlights the leading role that children and youth play as powerful agents of change.
Since 2021, when Formula E and UNICEF established a groundbreaking partnership, their work has benefited 2.5 million children and youth through climate change programs around the world. In 2022 alone, more than 1.8 million children and youth benefited through the partnership.
