Leading technology companies are in an unprecedented race to promote innovations that help mitigate the scourge that affects the development of electric vehicles, such as charging infrastructure.
From China, a leading country in electromobility on a global scale, the company Geely presented a charging infrastructure capable of supplying energy that allows cars to have 300 kilometers of autonomy in just 5 minutes.
Geely, owner of prestigious brands such as Volvo, Polestar, among others, offers with its new creation a maximum power up to 600 kW and has been developed by Geely’s subsidiary, Viridi E-mobility Technology (VREMT).
Like Tesla, several Chinese manufacturers operate their own fast-charging network and manufacture the chargers in-house. For example, Xpeng has begun installing its 480kW S4 chargers.

Encouraging Numbers
The company detailed that this technology will be capable of being 20% faster and is capable of adding 30% more autonomy than the best chargers currently on the market. A really striking leap forward in a very competitive sector.
According to initial estimates, these batteries will be able to support charging rates of up to 4C, so vehicles equipped with them should be able to go from 10 to 80% range in just 10 minutes.
So far, the only model that will be able to take full advantage of this system will be the new Zeekr 001, which will arrive in Europe in 2023, and which manages to squeeze out 600 kW of power thanks to its CATL Qilin battery. A cell with very advanced capabilities that will begin mass production next year.
Key Technology
According to Geely, the impressive power that this technology will generate has been achieved thanks to the use of a powerful liquid cooling system, which allows a station that can be manipulated by any user to achieve numbers similar to heavy vehicles operating in industrial quantities.
