Taking sustainable micro-mobility to professional sport has become a reality thanks to the eSkootr Championship, the first 100% electric scooter category, which will make its debut in 2022, and already has a second team confirmed for the starting grid: Helbiz.

The company will fully enter the green motorsport, after being one of the revolutionary manufacturers of small-scale mobility and technology for transportation since it was founded in 2015, by Italian entrepreneur Salvatore Palella, who envisioned to solve transit problems in big cities with heavy traffic.

The Helbiz team will have three riders for the championship coming from different sports categories, not necessarily linked to motorsport, but with a clear objective: to be part of a sport which will generate great rivalries on tracks around the world, selected to shape the official calendar.

Helbiz is one of the leading companies on the scooter sector; therefore, the organizers are confident that their experience and leadership will be transferred to the sport, considering that the vehicles will be wilder, faster and more aggressive, and be exposed to demanding mechanical requirements.

Helbiz’s Future at eSkootr Championship.

“We are delighted to welcome Helbiz to eSC. Apart from broader ambitions around the Championship, I have no doubt that Helbiz will compete at eSC to win and be competitive from the start. As a company, they share our passion for improving micro-mobility and providing safer and sustainable urban transport options,” said Khalil Beschir, Chief Operating Officer of eSkootr Championship.

eSC considers the partnership with Helbiz and their arrival at the championship as an alliance that will provide a successful vision to share experiences and provide solutions that will impact tomorrow on building a cleaner and smarter society.
