CATL once again demonstrates why it is at the forefront as a top manufacturer of batteries for electric vehicles, meeting the growing demand on a global scale.

The Asian technology company presented its new generation energy cell called ShenXing, a battery that not only offers 700 kilometers (km) per full charge, but also the possibility of refueling 400 km of autonomy in just 10 minutes.

The new battery is lithium-ferrophosphate (LFP) and not only offers ultra-fast refueling, but also provides great performance under extreme weather conditions.

All-terrain

During the presentation, CATL assured that ShenXing’s fast charging is capable of performing even in the most challenging environments. Recharging tests were conducted in temperatures below minus 10 degrees achieving 0 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes, while maintaining the performance of the electric vehicle during use.

The company reported that the new lithium-ferrophosphate battery is still some months away from entering the production line, but it is expected that this will happen before the end of the year.

Technology in Latin America

Latin America is closing the gap considerably with Asia and Europe in the area of electric mobility. Several countries have built alliances that include the innovative participation of CATL.

Divemotor and Andes Motor, recognized leaders in the automotive sector, recently announced a strategic partnership with CATL in Peru.

The main objective of the collaboration is to provide reliable after-sales support and warranty in the transition to electric vehicles in the region.

It is worth noting that CATL is currently one of the leading suppliers of power cells for electric vehicles, with customers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Nio, Hyundai and Tesla.
