Authorities and promoters are working flat out to make the Formula E race and Hyderabad, India a total success in the grand return of a large-scale motorsport event since 2013 when a Formula 1 Grand Prix was held.

Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Arvind Kumar inspected the ongoing work being carried out by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) a few days ago.

As part of the race scheduled for February 11, 2023, the institution is making arrangements and taking measures to ensure the safety of cars, drivers and spectators. The organization estimates that by the end of November the circuit, which will be around 3 meters, will be ready.

The day will be held on the road around the Hussain Sagar Lake, where several safety tests will also be carried out to ensure that the track is in optimal condition.

Preparation Details

Last September 25, a Formula E car was exhibited in the Tank Bund sector and in the coming months, the single-seater will be on display at different locations in the city. To raise awareness throughout the country, plans are being drawn up to bring the car to other regions.

A few weeks ago, a four-member team from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, paid a three-day visit to Hyderabad to inspect the track and the proposed arrangements.

At that time, the emissaries of the electric single-seater series also assessed the IMAX building to verify the suitability of providing certain activities linked to the event such as the thrill club, media center, drivers, team and crew briefing room.

The Formula E team also met with the chief special secretary of the Telangana government to discuss the progress of the day’s preparations.

During the meetings, instructions were given to finalize the track alignment and other areas to make preparations and ensured that everything will be completed on time.

The first campaign with third-generation vehicles will have 18 races between January and July 2023, on street circuits in 13 cities around the world, surpassing the previous record of 16 races in 10 different metropolises this 2022.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, on January 14, will host the first round of the “season nine” and the official competition presentation of the new single-seaters that promise to fill the tracks with speed.
