“Think and act fast”, one of the premises of French-based Spark Racing Technology, the company that has been counting on accelerated growth from 0 to 100 km/h since the Formula E granted it the opportunity to create the first 100% electric single-seater racing car. The manufacturer is currently working on the third generation of the series, the Gen3.
Electric mobility, mechanics and aerodynamics have been the three aspects on which the company founded in 2012, has placed all its energy, the same ones that were used to move forward with the first 100% electric all-terrain vehicle series, Extreme E.
It was created by the outstanding engineer and equipment manager, Frédéric Vasseur. After founding SRP, more and more challenges have come for a brand that, in turn, has opened the doors to the world to witness emission-free races that continue to be born every day.
To quote the phrase “Think and act fast”, we can say that Spark Racing has had to work against the clock on major projects. To develop the first electric single-seater racing car for Formula E, called Formulec EF01, the manufacturer managed to build the prototype in less than a year.
Now, after Formula E has received a World Championship status, and is recognized as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Spark Racing Technology is working on the Gen3, providing a big boost to the category, adding more quality and excitement for the fans.
The new vehicle is scheduled to hit the track in 2022 for season nine.
Beyond Four Wheels
Single-seaters and off-roaders are the house specialty for Spark Racing Technology, but its alliance with LMX Bikes has also allowed the company to explore and exploit their potential on 100% electric motorcycles and bicycles.
A 45 kilogram ultralight motorcycle (LMX 161) and a bike capable of reaching 45 km / h are two of the main two-wheeled solutions offered by the partnership.
Both models are specially designed to face from flat terrain to the most difficult environments offered by nature. All this, with 100% recyclable materials, a key aspect in a market increasingly deepening its efforts to become more sustainable.
As an OEM
Spark is also known for its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) engineering.
Although for confidentiality reasons the manufacturer can not disclose the projects it carries out jointly with a number of companies of global relevance, we can say that it has award-winning prototypes and, as if that were not enough, hydrogen also has been getting into their plans!
