Polestar announced the launch of new variants of the Polestar 2, its first fully electric car. The Swedish brand is now able to offer its customers cheaper and longer-range versions.

“2021 is the year in which Polestar 2 will really gain momentum,” commented Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath on the launch of these new variants.
“We launched with a strong offer which has set a great tone for the car. Now, we expand the offering with additional versions – each maintaining its unique design, premium quality and fun driving experience.”
Modifications now allow for three available powertrains. Modifications include 19-inch wheels, unique LED front and rear light designs, and frameless mirrors that reduce drag. Like the vegan WeaveTech upholstery introduced in 2020, the new embossed textile upholstery is a vegan material and is available in two-color executions, both paired with 3D etched decorative panels.
Other notable standard features include an 8-speaker high-performance stereo, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear backup camera.
Notably, Polestar was Volvo’s high-performance brand, but was recently rebranded and relaunched as an electric vehicle brand. The automotive brand is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and the production of its vehicles takes place in China.
