Yadea is the world’s largest manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, with a product portfolio spanning a variety of electric scooters with seats and electric bicycles. Now the company is adding electric stand-up scooters to its list.
The Yadea KS5 and KS5 Pro are lightweight folding model scooters designed for rapid urban transit.
The entry-level Yadea KS5 houses a 350W motor and achieves a top speed of 18.6 miles per hour (mph) or 30 kilometers per hour (Km / h) as well as a range of 40 kilometers.
In the case of the Yadea KS5 Pro upgrade it gives riders a 500 W motor (with a maximum power of 700 W) and a faster top speed of 22 mph (35 km / h). Its largest battery has a maximum range of 37 miles (60 km).
Both models feature rear-wheel motors, which move the center of mass further back than typical budget scooters with front-wheel motors, as well as a triple braking system consisting of a drum brake at the front plus a brake disc and regenerative braking at the rear.
Drum brakes have maintenance advantages over disc brakes, while disc brakes provide better long-term braking and more stopping power.

Another improvement is the size of the large wheel, which measures 10 inches. That may seem small to the uninitiated, however it is a significant size for a scooter.
Scooters connected via Bluetooth can interact with the Yadea mobile app, which includes a smart lock feature and also provides over-the-counter (OTA) updates to the scooter’s firmware.
Yadea skipped the reservation process for those who want to purchase both models and went directly to Amazon.
Scooters are available from the e-commerce giant, with the KS5 priced at $ 639 and the KS5 Pro priced at $ 759.
