Xiaomi continues to link with the world of electric vehicles, and rumors begin to accumulate with the increase in demand for this type of car. The latest information from Reuters indicates that Xiaomi has found a manufacturer for its electric car.

According to the German agency, Xiaomi’s vehicle will be manufactured in a Great Wall Motor Company Limited (GWM) plant, located in Hong Kong. It should be noted that GWM is a brand that began in 1984 and that it would now join the electric vehicle race at the hands of the Chinese giant.

According to sources, Xiaomi expects to have its vehicle ready by 2023, and it will be able to connect with other devices in the manufacturer’s ecosystem to offer full integration.

Regarding availability, it is expected to see a first launch oriented to China, where the electricity market is strong and where they will be able to start with a more comfortable distribution.

Launch date in sight

Not long ago there was speculation about Xiaomi’s project for an electric vehicle, since according to various sources such as iFeng News, the Chinese manufacturer and in particular Lei Jun (founder and CEO of Xiaomi) would have been interested in creating their own car for several years. electric and would have finally decided to carry it out.

The brand issued a statement noting that they have been “paying attention to developments in the electric vehicle industry and continually studying relevant industry trends.”
